I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a member of UW-Madison's interdisciplinary cluster in the ethics of computing, data, and information. I work primarily in normative ethics and the interdisciplinary field of philosophy, politics, and economics. In normative ethics, I work on the foundations of consequentialist moral theory and related issues in the ethics of harm. My work in philosophy, politics, and economics concerns the impact of various information technologies on market institutions and property regimes. I also have interests in nineteenth-century moral and political thought, especially in the utilitarian and socialist traditions.
